During the winter months the club runs four main tournaments, The Stewart Trophy, The Pairs Championship , The Appleton Cup and the Cissie Hanley Pairs Salver


During the summer months the club runs two competitions, The Summer Cup and The Hutcheon Cup.


The club also runs three one off competitions, namely The Loreburn Cup, The McGowan Trophy and The Diamond Swiss Teams


On Wednesday nights throughout the year the the club runs a weekly aggreegate competition.

On Thursday nights during the summer the club holds open nights where beginners, improvers and non-members are made welcome. A host system operates, which means that you can turn up on your own and you are assured of a game.

The Stewart Trophy

The premier match-pointed event held within the club. It is held over 20 nights from the first Monday in September with the best 11 scores counting.

The Pairs Championship

The Pairs championship is match-pointed with a handicap given per your performance over all the results for competition nights in the previous year. It is run over 10 nights with the best 6 scores counting. The Pairs Championship commences at the end of The Stewart Trophy.

The Appleton Cup

The Appleton Cup is an aggregate scored event held within the club. It is handicapped with the handicaps ranging from 0 to 3200, these are based on the previous year's performance, with each person being given an individual handicap. Each pair's handicap is based on the average of the pair's individual handicap

The competition is run over 13 nights from the first Friday in September with the best 7 scores counting. Running along side The Appleton Cup is the Appleton Scratch Cup which is competed for with no handicap.

The Cissie Hanley Salver

The The Cissie Hanley Salver is a handicapped Matchpointed tournament. The handicaps ranging from 0 to 16%, these are based on the previous year's performance, with each person being given an individual handicap. Each pair's handicap is based on the average of the pair's individual handicap

The competition is run over 13 nights after The Appleton Cup with the best 7 scores counting. Running along side The Cissie Hanley Salver is a scratch competition which is competed for with no handicap.

The Summer Cup .

The Summer Cup is played over 15 Friday Nights, during the Summer with 7 scores counting towards the overall result. It is a match-pointed event.

The Hutcheon Cup is played over 15 Monday Nights, during the Summer, with 8 scores counting. It is aggregate scored.
